Arun Jaitley, is opposition leader in the Rajya Sabha of the Indian Parliament and the main leader of the Bharatiya Janata party, He is an experienced politician and a well-known lawyer.Biography and sucess story of Arun Jaitley.
He was born on December 28, 1952 in the home of famous lawyer Maharaj Kishan Jaitley of Naraina Vihar, in New Delhi area. He obtained his early education at St. Xavier School in New Delhi.In 1973, he completed his Bachelor of Commerce degree from Shri Ram College of Commerce and enrolled in the Law Department of the University of Delhi in 1977 to study law.
He also continued to participate in teaching and other programs during his studies. In 1974, he was elected president of the Student Union of the University of Delhi. With this, his political career also began.
In 1974, Arun Jaitley joined the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad. During the emergency in 1975, he was placed under house arrest for 19 months after opposing the emergency.
In 1973, he also played an active role in the anti-corruption movement led by Jayaprakash Narayan and Rajnarayan.

After the emergency in 1977, he began preparing for his defense in the Superior Court. He completed his preparations in many higher courts of the country before going to the Supreme Court. In 1990, Arun Jaitley began his work as a principal lawyer in the Supreme Court.
He was appointed Additional Procurator General in 1989 in VP Singh Government. He also did paperwork investigating the Bofors scandal. He has written several articles of law.
On 1991, he is became member of BJP (Bharatiya Janata Party). He became a spokesperson for BJP in the general elections of 1999 and after the BJP came to power in the Center, he was granted the independent position of the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting.
He was then appointed Minister of Independent State for divestment. Jaitley received the additional charge of this ministry after Ram Jethmalani left the Ministry of Law, Justice and Commercial Affairs. Ahe elections of Lok Sabha held in 2000, he was appointed Minister of Law, Justice, Commercial Affairs and Maritime Transport.
After 2004, Arun Jaitley returned to his legal profession. In 2006 Jaitley became a member of Rajya Sabha of Gujarat. He played an important role in amendments 84 and 91 of the Constitution.
In 2009, Jaitley became the Leader of the Opposition in Rajya Sabha, while he lost to Amritsar in the 2014 Lok Sabha elections, but after the formation of the BJP government in the Center, Narendra Modi expressed his confidence that He was granted the important position of the Finance minister.
After some time, he also served as defense minister. However, due to health problems, Modi refused to assume the position of minister in Government-2.
